I would like you to get to know about the two wonderful musicians in our new band, “Every Generation”. Joachim Sohn is now my favorite bass player that I ever worked with; he’s a young man from Friesenheim Germany, in the Black Forest: a virtual groove machine, and creative as well. To those two necessary attributes you can add the finest memory for a song that I have ever known. Way better than mine! Our drummer and anchor is Achim Bührer, who has a great ear for a song, and is the first drummer I ever worked with who takes his cues from the vocal and from the song, more than from the rhythmic arrangement or groove. I think we make a fantastic rock trio, which for our kind of music has always been my favorite kind of group. As every musician knows, a trio leaves lots of “room” (freedom of expression) for every player in the group. Of course, from time to time we will also be using the talents of the other wonderful musicians and singers I have had the pleasure to meet here in Europe. As a trio, we made a few spontaneous recordings in the cellar of a Restaurant in Gengenbach, (Frei Steinkellarhaus, thanks Andreas!), Germany, which I’m posting parts of, for those who are interested. Music can still be fun, even after all these years.
